Ephesians 3

Bible Passage: Ephesians 3

Though under arrest for the sake of the gospel, Paul asked his fellow brethren not to be discouraged, because he was being used in the service of God’s eternal plan. He seemed more anxious that the believers would feel disheartened than what he had to go through.

Imprisoned in Rome, Paul described himself as a prisoner of Christ Jesus (Eph 3:1). It is the state of mind that sets Paul apart from others and this should also be the mindset we ought to have to set ourselves apart from the rest of the world.

If we are going through trials and yet continue to stand tall and proclaim Jesus is the one we are suffering for, He will be pleased.

Pr Chin AQ once mentioned in one of his sermons the difference between 心境(how we feel) and 环境 (environment). While we cannot control or change our environment, we can control the way we feel and the approach we take to handle these difficult times.

Paul rejoiced while in shackles and chains and continued to serve God in his entire life. When we go through hardships and sufferings, could we mirror his attitude and continue to serve God for the rest of our lives?

Yesterday, biblereader encouraged us to participate actively in the evangelistic service coming up on 1st, 2nd and 3rd July. Tracting will take place on 18th and 25th of June and this is our opportunity to serve God if we have not had time to do so.

We might encounter rejection or rude remarks when we knock on people’s doors, but this is nothing compared to Paul who was imprisoned for preaching the truth. If not for Paul’s perseverance and steadfastness in spreading the gospel, Christianity would not have spread far and wide today.

HAVE YOU COUNTED YOUR BLESSINGS LATELY?

In conclusion, these are my favourite verses of Chapter 3:

“may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

                                                                                                                                                                                                              Ephesians 3:18-19

In our busy lives, never forget God’s love for us. Take time to count those blessings that God has showered us with.

Blessed Sabbath!

    Eph 3:20 神能照着运行在我们心里的大力充充足足地成就一切,超过我们所求的所想的。

This is my favourite verse in Eph 3.

The grace which God wants to bestow on His children is exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.

The crux is do we allow the power to work in us?

Pr Chin reminded us not to grieve the Holy Spirit on Tues.

And when we submit and allow the power to work in us, to God be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Eph 3:21)
