Jeremiah 31

Bible Passage:  Jeremiah 31

Long ago before we were born,
Before Jesus was even around,
God had already made a plan;
A blueprint of salvation for man.

When He gave us the Ten Commandments,
And all the other laws to keep (Deuteronomy 10:12-13),
He knew that our flesh would be weak,
But in His law we would find the guidance we seek.

He never intended to forsake us,
But sin separates Him from us.
It was difficult for us to keep the covenant of old (Jeremiah 31:32),
Because we fell for the world—we were sold.

We had become slaves to the world,
Without hope, joy, love or direction.
So He made a new covenant because of His mercy (Hosea 2:18),
Because He loves us despite our iniquities.

He desires to be our God,
And we His people.
He wants to know us,
As much as He wants our trust.

“I have loved you with an
Everlasting love;
Therefore I have continued my
Faithfulness to you” (Jeremiah 31:3).

Let us continue to renew our trust in the Lord,
And to repay His love by keeping the new covenant.
This journey of faith is not an easy path,
But let us not neglect this salvation grace which was given to us.
