Prophecy – Obadiah
Welcome back to another round of Life’s Recipes!
Today, we are pleased to have Mr Obadiah share his recipes with us.
Mr Obadiah, is the well-known author of…you guessed it J… the book of Obadiah! Besides his writing, Mr Obadiah is also notable for his act of courage and faithfulness in hiding 100 prophets of God in caves during the massacre ordered by the vile queen Jezebel (1 Kgs 18:4, 13).
Without further ado, let us see what he has to share with us!
Bible Passage: Obadiah
Consommé de Judgement et Destruction
Ingredients:
- A block of pride (Obad 3)
- Some cloves violence (aka destructiveness – often of emotions and faith) (Obad 10)
- A few dashes of gloating (Obad 12)
Method:
1. Slice pride and simmer well
2. Crush violence and sprinkle liberally
3. Season with gloating
Serves:
The nation of Edom as well as all who partake in their sins. Often during the times they turn on their brother, the house of Jacob.
Mousse au Deliverance
Ingredients:
- Some sheets of holiness (Obad 17)
- A bunch of zeal (Obad 18)
- A gallon of courage (Obad 19-20)
Method:
1. Heat zeal well
2. Wrap with sheets of holiness
3. Fry at high heat and boil with courage
Serves:
The house of Jacob; the true Israelites who burn with zeal for the holiness and righteousness of God.
Mr Obadiah would like to remind us that while he’s the one sharing these recipes with us, God is the one who inspired as well as set the standards for them. He tells us what God has to say
[…] As you have done, it shall be done to you (Obad 15)

The Book of Obadiah seems to be of the same theme as Jeremiah 49:7-22.
Mr Courageous Obadiah lived in the time of King Ahab around AD874-853.
While Mr Prophetic Obadiah may have lived around Daniel’s time according to the timeline at the back of bible.
May be Obadiah is not 1 but 2? Not sure bec even David had prophesied against Edom in Ps137:7.
For Edom’s actions in Obadiah 12 to 14, the judgment of God is clear in Obadiah 15:
For the day of the LORD upon all the nations is near;
As you have done, it shall be done to you.
This is the blessing of God to His chosen people,”I shall bless those who bless you, curse those who curse you.”
The Israelites are the chosen people of God.
Every child of God is purchased with the precious blood of Lord Jesus. Won’t God do to me as i have done to His children?
“The house of Jacob shall possess their possession….And the kingdom shall be the LORD’s”
