Psalm 95

Psalm 95

Bible Passage:  Psalm 95

When the Israelites traveled through the wilderness after crossing the Red Sea, they were faced with hunger and thirst and thus complained against God.

Yet the Lord turned bitter water into sweet water and rained down manna from heaven for them.

When the people once again ran out of water in the wilderness of sin, they complained again, but this time even doubted God’s presence. Although they had seen such great miracles as the parting of the Red Sea, they were not thankful at all; it seemed as if they had forgotten all of God’s power and goodness.

They were completely immersed in their worries and physical needs.

Sometimes we may be like the Israelites; when we meet with difficulties in our life or when things simply don’t turn out the way we expected, we forget God’s many blessings to us and we start to complain and doubt.

Yet while we face problems, we need to remember all the wonderful things God has done for us – how the Lord called us to become His child, how He comforted,  strengthened and helped us in times of trouble.

If we recall God’s works in our life and in creation, we realize once more that we are in His hands. Then reassurance, thankfulness and joy will wash away any clouds of self-pity, over-anxiousness or doubt and complaint.

For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. (Ps 95:7)

yes, we will be the same as the israelite if our focal point is on our immediate needs and desire.
therefore it is important to learn to appreciate and be thankful to God for what we have received and try to understand His will for letting us go through the hard patches in our journey of faith.

The whole of Psalms have a common theme but the way it is written is all different. All glorifying God but different techniques are used, so beautiful!
