Peter’s Address Before the Sanhedrin

Bible Passage: Acts 4:8-12

With the Holy Spirit with us and abiding in us, we do not have to fear standing up for the truth and defending what is right.

Peter’s tone towards the Sanhedrin showed he was not at all afraid or intimidated by these people; the same people who crucified the Lord Jesus.

Bravery is trait I would very much like to have. At times when faced with an unreasonable boss, I need as much courage I can muster to defend myself.

Decades ago one of the Columbine High shooters pointed a gun at his victim, a teenage boy and asked if he was a Christian. The latter replied yes and he was killed.

In times of persecution, do we have the courage to proclaim, yes, we are Christians and risk losing our lives? Or will we deny Christ to ensure our survival?

It is definitely terrifying to face persecution. Inevitably, as True Jesus Church members, we will be persecuted one day. Some of us could even be persecuted right now by non-Christian friends, spouses, family members or strangers we preach to.

Hence we need to pray fervently and constantly for God to fill us with courage and faith, to take up the cross and follow Him.

He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

John 12:25

Are we ready when the day comes?
