1 Corinthians 12

Bible Passage: 1 Corinthians 12

True Jesus Church had been busy with the Mid Year Evangelistic Meeting for the past 3 nights. While reading 1 Corinthians 12 today, I could see that all the members in our church are indeed blessed with spiritual gifts from our Lord.

Once I heard a testimony about how a non-believer was moved to coming to church just by hearing the choir sing. Indeed as I read the lyrics shown on the screen while the church choir sang, it was hard not to be moved. God has blessed the church with choir members who are willing to serve with their voices.

The befrienders, reception and ushers were also blessed with friendly and open hearts to welcome truthseekers and show them to their seats. When I first attended True Jesus Church, I was greeted by smiles from people I don’t know. I also felt more at home when befrienders took the initiative to come up to me and chit chat so that I don’t feel lonely. God has blessed the church with these members who help newcomers feel at ease and are willing to return a second time.

Someone once mentioned that unlike other churches, our church does not hire cleaners to clean the church premises. As children of God’s household we ought to take up responsibility to keep the Lord’s house clean. I believe many of us take for granted the clean toilets, bench arrangements in the church hall and setting up of tables and chairs in the dining area. Thank God for members who always take the initiative to do these “backstage”duties. Every one of us is responsible and should do our part.

On Saturday morning while drinking water at the water cooler, I noticed a new plant which bore fruit that resembled a star fruit. I took the opportunity to view our gardens and noticed a few new plants that I failed to spot previously. Our trees and plants are kept so beautifully. I once tried to do some gardening in church and it was backbreaking work under the sweltering hot sun. Thank God for members who tirelessly maintain our church garden so well.

We enjoyed really elaborate and delicious snacks during the Mid-Year Evangelistic meeting. The menu was thought out in detail and much effort was put into the cooking by one of the best cooks I know in church. Each durian kueh. green bean paste spring roll, prune chocolate cake and so on, were meticulously whipped up by a church sister who is willing to serve God wholeheartedly.

I learnt a lot during this evangelistic service. A lot of effort has been put into setting up this event. While we are willing to do the work, we will not be able to do it without God. I always feel that God has blessed our church members so much; everyone is so multi-talented and serve in many areas.. not just on the pulpit, but also in areas which are so important but we don’t see normally. With these spiritual gifts from God we ought to serve Him and the Church.

May God be pleased with our service to Him.

What a lovely posting! When you take time to pause and look around you, you indeed see the words of God alive all around you.
May God continue to bless and guide the church and her members in our service to God and one another.
