1 John 5

Bible Passage: 1 John 5

When we are born of God, we are born into His image of love. We will know how to love our God through keeping His commandments, and we will know how to love His Son who gave His life for our salvation.

When we are born of God, we will also know how to love those who are the children of God.

When we are born of God, we can become victors in this world that is under the rule of the devil. Before we were born of God, we were slaves and sinners under the bondage of the devil; but after being born of God, we can overcome the world’s enticements through the power given to us through the Son.

When we are born of God, we have the assurance to inherit the Kingdom of God, for the water, the blood and the Spirit bore witness of our rebirth.

When we are born of God, we have the assurance that He will hear us whenever we pray, so that as His children, we will not lack anything; and whenever we intercede for our brethren who have sinned a sin not leading to death, He will give him life.

When we are born of God, we have His protection and the evil one can never touch us, for the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Being born of God has everything to gain and nothing to lose, for we have become His precious treasure.

This is the great grace of God that He has so willingly showered upon us, and is still showering abundantly on all of us who love Him.

His love is always ready to be poured upon us, but we must also do our part to remain steadfast in His bosom.

Let us never cease to adore Him, give thanks and praises to our loving Father in Heaven.

All praise and glory to Jesus our Lord.

Shalom

In my opinion, faith, love and truth are very difficult subjects to talk about. They are so vague, and yet, so well-defined, at the same time. The irony is, more often than not, these three topics are very closely and directly related to our religion, or any other religion, for that matter, and how we choose to speak about it and go about living it.

Religion is a very difficult subject to expound or preach about to someone who knows close to nothing about it, but it is a responsibility, because it concerns life (and death). And these two things should never be taken with a pinch of salt.

Maybe what I’ve been sharing here has been shared infinite times before. Maybe what I’ve been sharing here is very worthy of being overlooked and taken for granted. (I mean, this is just a comment after all.) Maybe what I’ve been sharing here hasn’t even been making much sense to you or anybody else. Maybe I don’t know the Holy Bible as well as I should. Maybe I just am not that good at sharing or giving advice or being a Christian or just about anything else, but ever since I started, I made a promise to myself to always give this my best shot and never miss a week of sharing, even if it meant being a day or two behind schedule, because I knew how much further I had to go, how much I needed to be reminded of who I am and who I owe, for as long as I’m allowed to live.

After reading this post about 1 John 5, I realized that religion, Christianity in particular, is “You and I”.
It has to be felt. People have to go through their own spiritual journeys and experiences and accept the religion as truthfully and as honestly as they possibly can. They have to believe in something and someone they cannot see. They have to speak to someone who, on many occasions, doesn’t seem to have a reply. They have to go through life, doing whatever they can, to hold on to the fact that an invisible someone out there has always been and will always continue to be watching out for them, rescuing them whenever necessary.

This is very much why many have fallen or chosen to give up.
This is also very much why many have managed to hang on and carry on.

Sometimes I just think to myself, “Why does religion have to be so complex and profound? WHY? Why can’t God just make people believe, show Himself to us and spare us heartaches and headaches? WHY? I mean, He IS our creator.”
The thing is, aren’t faith, love and truth matters deserving that same or an even greater amount of pain? Don’t we see people fighting for faith? Don’t we people fighting for love? Don’t we see people fighting for or investing so much in the truth?
Why, then should religion be any different? Especially, one that is so pure and true?

Many times in life, there is only one way. There shouldn’t be a choice. Religion might have been passed down from generation to generation, but that’s exactly the whole beauty of it.
You’ve already (almost too literally) been born of God. That’s something to be so incredibly proud of, something that you shouldn’t try to challenge, deny or doubt.
I know how hard it is to stay permanently determined in this one religion and belief forever. Trust me, I know. IT IS TOUGH MAN.
But at the end of the day, when you look back at all the years of your life, you realize how the good and the bad things didn’t “just happen”. Someone, somewhere out there, probably in the middle of nowhere, willed for those things to happen to preserve and shield you, beyond your human knowledge and understanding.
Show signs of struggle and distress, but don’t test God.

If there’s one thing I am certain stays constant in this ever changing society that is our home, it’s the fact that God is fighting for you, because you are His faith, love and truth.
