1 Peter 2

1 Peter 2

Bible Passage:  1 Peter 2

C      hosen from among the seven billion people in the world…

H      e, our Father in heaven, calls us to different; not to be an avenger, a liar, a hypocrite, a green-eyed monster, or any
other kind of evil person.

O       ur Father wants us to be like that newborn baby we might see every day, or in church, or at the shops, who really wants to be fed most of the time. He wants us to desire to read the word because we really want to get to know Him better, then grow into someone more like the person He wants us to be.

S       o that each of us can grow into a people who are as valuable as precious stones, able to build up a spiritual house like the church—for without each and every chosen person coming together at the meeting site, there would be no church.

E       ach of us is special.  You are special. You were personally hand chosen and called by Him for this purpose.

N      o one can replace you. There is no one like you.

O       nce called, remember you are only passing by in this world and so resist temptations (foul language TV shows and movies, violent games, gossiping, endless addicting dramas, you name it…).

N      ever forget people are always watching you observing what you say and do, because it’s hard to remember every minute of the day when we’re busy with our own things. Something bad might slip out of our mouth, an evil thought pops up in our head, or we do something we’re not meant to be doing.

E       ven we should be law abiding citizens. Though we may be chosen ones, we must do good by following the law. Be also, submissive to those above us—teachers, bosses, and people with authority, not only submissive to the nice ones but also the harsh ones for Jesus set us this example of doing good and being patient in suffering.

S       hine your light to those around you who may still be in the dark.

Can you think of a lost sheep who needs to be rounded back?

This is a good one! Makes me want to attempt it myself…

Christ (4-8) – in Whom we are chosen
Honourable conduct (11-12) – demanded of all who are chosen
Obedience (13-18) – to humans, as to God
Suffering (19-23) – to which we are called, in His footsteps
Emancipation (24-25) – we were released from sins, to live righteously
Newborn babes (1-3) – where we all start
