Hebrews Chapter 6

A matured Christian will develop depth of understanding of the faith and teach others, instead of just being taught and struggling with the Basic Beliefs. Day by day, we need to learn from the Word of God even more.

The pleasure of the world may harden our hearts and bring about spiritual stagnancy and even backsliding. Regardless of the cause, sluggishness is an indication of unbelief. The author of Hebrews warns the reader that those who reject Christ or going back to commit apostasy will not be saved. Jesus Christ died once and for all, He will not be crucified again (6:4-6).

We should not be a Christian in name only but to be a mature Christian. A mature Christian should not be unproductive but bear good fruit and to be a useful vessel to the Lord (6:7).

We have been watered by the grace of God with abundant God’s Word and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

What excuse do we have for a useless and unproductive life?

Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire (Matthew 3:10, 7:19; Luke 3:9; John 15:2, 6).

So, let us be a mature Christian who bears good fruits. Some thirtyfold, some sixty and some a hundred (Mark 4:8).
