Isaiah

Isaiah Chapter 34

Come near, you nations, to hear;
And heed, you people!
Let the earth hear, and all that is in it,
The world and all things that come forth from it.
~ Isaiah 34:1

Although God has been proclaiming warnings through Prophet Isaiah in all the chapters leading up to this, it was still necessary for God to call out once again to the nations, people and earth hear about all the things that is to come.

God is angry with the nations then because of all the sin and evil that was happening. God is still angry today but like in the history of the Israelites, God, in His mercy, allows for the people (nations) to gather around and listen to what God has to say.

Judgment will come upon all the nations because of the sin in the world and they will be destroyed.

The same call during Isaiah’s time echoes today as well.

God’s judgement will surely come but the people have yet to fully come to listen to God and do what He says. The final judgment will come where we, and all the people in the world, will be held accountable for their every action, speech and thought.

So this same call of God is for all today as well. We need to gather together to listen to what God has to say.

Many choose not to listen. Some even claim God does not exist. Or that God is no longer relevant and no longer speaks today.

But whatever God says, it is important. He may speak to the whole nations. And yet, He may speak to us about the things we have done in our lives and what we need to change or stop doing. He is telling us to repent of our sins and if we do not, we will suffer the same fate as the nations.

When we hear His voice, we have an opportunity to be His witness. Doors will be opened for you to share the gospel message and His love and mercy with those around you so that they too can hear God’s voice and obey.

But if we choose to shut our ears and not hear God, we will not know what God wants us to do and then not be able to help other hear God.

So why not, just switch off for a while and listen to God speak.

After all. we are His sheep and His sheep knows the voice of the Shepherd.
