Bible Passage:  Matthew 28

*Low in the grave He lay,
Jesus My Saviour!
Waiting the coming day,
Jesus my Lord!*

-Hymns of Praise, Hymn 78-

Mary Magdelene and the other Mary
Early in the morning,
Again we walked down to the tomb.
But an earthquake struck then an angel appearing
Said, “Do not be afraid…” for we would meet Jesus soon.

He is not here;
For He is risen…”
The angel said, telling us to come near
To witness for ourselves there and then.

Quickly we wanted to spread the news,
“He is risen!”
Quickly we ran to the disciples,
With fear and great joy as we went.

“Rejoice!”
It was Jesus who met us,
While we were on our way to voice
The good news, “He is risen!”

“Do not be afraid…”
Jesus said, comforting us
As we thought of where He once laid,
Sorrowful-sad-shocked-joyful now that He is risen thus!

“Go and tell My brethren…,”
This is the message Jesus wants to spread.
He wants us to rejoice with them,
For He brings hope and salvation for our stead.

Guards
Three days had gone by already,
And we stood guard the tomb every day,
Until an earthquake shook…the ground wasn’t steady,
Then an angel came…the tomb stone rolled away.

His countenance was like lightning.
We were in fear and trembling.
His clothing as white as snow.
We put on a dead man’s show.

Back to the city,
Reporting everything to the chief priests.
But they showed us no pity,
telling us to be quiet…bribing us with not the least.

Chief priests and elders
No! Oh no!
What’s this!?
Meet now! Let’s talk about our foe,
For our plan have gone amiss!

It can’t be true!
We won’t let it.
We won’t believe in Him neither shall others too.
Bribe the soldiers, the truth they shall never admit.

Until this day,
This is the common saying,
“His disciples came at night and stole Him away
While we slept”…they killed the Son of God…yet they just keep lying.

Disciples

To Galilee we went
After we heard the news.
To the mountain where Jesus had sent
For us, and we saw him, worshipped Him, yet some mused.

All authority, all nations,
All things Jesus commands, always,
With complete authority over all creation,
He is the King of kings and we ought to obey Him all of our days.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.
Teach them to observe all things”,
He commanded us; this is our commission.
“I am with you always, even to end of age,” He is still saying.

Ode to My Saviour

I didn’t know how much You cared,
But You watch over me everywhere.
I didn’t know what love You sowed,
How great is Your love to show.
I didn’t know what mercy meant,
O how my sins You often relent.
I didn’t know how to forgive,
But You show me how to let go so that I may live.

I didn’t know how to wait,
Yet You patiently walk me through the moments I hate.
I didn’t know how to pray,
But You’ll always be there to listen every day.
I didn’t know how to praise Your name,
O how great are You deserving of all fame.
I didn’t know how to preach about You,
Still You want to save me and others too.

One thing I know,
I am still the I-didn’t-know person though,
I am trying, and struggling,
Still going, and currently fighting.
And I know You are always there,
But I hope to remember this in my despair
And in peaceful moments of any length:
The joy of the Lord is my strength.

*Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign.
He arose He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!*

Lies are illogical, yet people can be persuaded. Bec man overly rely on ourselves.

Matthew 28:13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’

If they were sleeping, how could they know that His body was stolen by His disciples? If they knew, why did they not stop them?

Their so called excuse is flaw and illogical.

m i like them at times? Yes, many times.

What does Lord Jesus want His disciples to do after baptism? To observe all things that He has commanded the disciples.(Matthew 28:20)

Ponder: do i observe all things? No,
Ponder: is Lord Jesus with me always? Yes, by the Holy Spirit.
Ponder: Then does it mean that don’t have to observe all things? The grace of Lord Jesus is sufficient for me. The flesh is weak.

The grace of Lord Jesus is not to be taken for granted.

1 John 2:17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Ponder: do i have to observe all things of God? Yes, i want to abide forever in His kingdom.
