Psalm 70

Psalm 70

Bible Passage:  Psalm 70

Hmmm… how many of you get a feeling of de ja vu when you read this passage?

With a few minor changes, this psalm is a duplicate of Psalm 40:13-17.  Once again, David prays for God to come quickly to his aid.

Hurry up, God! I need this, I need that – right now!

As I read David’s words, I cannot help but thinking… are we far too impatient with God?

When we are in the midst of some trials or trouble, we can identify with the plea of David – especially in this psalm – “make haste to help me, O Lord!”

Yet, we know that God’s timing and providence is the best.  In many ways and times, our needs have been met every time. Unexpected help from friends have taught us to “rejoice and be glad” as we see God’s provision for us time and again.

David contrasts his great needs with the praise of his Saviour.  Read how  he says… “I am…. You are…”

Let us remember the times when God stepped in as we reflect on these verses again.  And praise Him once again today.
