God – The Deliverer of Those in Bondage

Bible Passage: Exodus 1-3

Many times people or even Christians find themselves in bondage – addiction, depression, fear, guilt, lack etc..

During trials and tribulations we might lead our lives with clouds of doubt and helplessness descending upon us, not knowing what to do.

Are you hurting right now? Are your loved ones suffering? Are you disturbed by news of people suffering in places devastated by disasters everyday? Do you feel that your troubles are so great it seems God is absent from your life?

It could be very disheartening and destructive to our faith if we feel that God does not care or hear our prayers. It is easy to have such feelings if God does not respond immediately or in the way we want.

We all know that regardless of the situation, God is able to break us free from these chains of bondage and liberate us.

And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians…”

                                                                                                            Exodus 3:7-8

God sees our problems, hears our cries, but He does not just look on. He gets Himself involved, if only we let Him.

The greatest deliverance was God coming in the flesh as Man to die for our sins, to free us from the shackles of death. As we partake the Holy Communion this Sabbath, may we realize the extent of Jesus’ selfless sacrifice and put our full trust in Him.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Peter 1:3-5

The concept of life itself is dreary without God, but we who know God and are His children have a living hope and are thus joyful during our sojourn in this life.

We are the recipients of abundant blessings that God offers freely to those who obey His commandments and walk in faith.

I like the picture of the rainbow! It reminded me of the rainbow covenant God established with Noah and I am comforted by today’s sharing, and I know that God is faithful. He always fulfills his promises an all we need to do is to be patient…
