Bible Passage: Revelations 3

Continuing on from last week’s posting by biblereader…

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches…

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches…

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches…

In Revelations 2, John mentioned about 4 of the 7 churches. And in today’s posting, it’s the other 3 (because 7 – 4 = 3).

Indeed, in these end times, biblereader had mentioned that we, as followers of Christ, will face a variety of trials and tribulations as we walk along the path of faith.

Just like in the previous chapter, this chapter also tells us to listen to the words of God. We have to meditate upon them and pray constantly, so that we may be able to overcome all of the tribulations and temptations that beset upon us.

How is our faith?

But in these times, we also have to ask ourselves: How is our faith in Christ right now?

Is it alright?

Or is it dead (like the church in Sardis)?

Or is it lukewarm (like the church in Laodicea)?

Or is it at the point where we are able to really stand firm in the face of trials and tribulations, keeping the word and not denying the name of our Lord (like the church in Philadelphia)?

Because we are the children of God, we have the heavenly Father in us, and we will be able to overcome the devil, because our God is greater than him. But we also need to be steadfast in our faith. And we need true faith…

Faith is believing and listening to the teachings and commandments of our Lord Jesus Christ.

True faith is do those and acting upon them in our everyday lives.

Faith is doing the aforementioned in these peaceful times.

True faith is being able to do the aforementioned even in the most dire of times and situations.

Faith is being able to endure all things.

True faith is being able to endure all things and still love and trust in God, because we know that His promises are true, and we can see and press on towards the goal.

And with true faith, we can truly overcome all of the tribulations and temptations that we meet along the way in our lives. Indeed, to those who can overcome, their names will be found in the Book of Life, and they will be able to meet our heavenly Father at His throne.

May we be those people who overcome…

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world…

– 1 John 4: 4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith…

– 1 John 5: 4
