Romans 10

Bible Passage: Romans 10

First of all, a very sincere apology for posting this soooooo late… Please try to picture me giving a heartfelt apology in the flesh and not in megabytes (if you know what I look like that is).

Anyway, on to the sharing (which will be a quick and simple one)…

Israel Needs the Gospel

At least according to my bible, this is the first of two subsections in the chapter. And that is that Israel needs the gospel.

Being spiritual Israelites, we too need the gospel in order to be saved. And not even just us spiritual Israelites. The lost sheep out there need the gospel too!

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”…

          Romans 10: 12-13

The grace and mercy of Christ had opened the way of salvation to the Gentiles about 2,000 years ago (and don’t forget that we belonged to that category). There are many out there who probably do not realize that they need it badly, for some might not have heard of it and have not thought about calling upon the Lord’s name. And this is our commandment from God with regards to these people out there:

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature…”

          Mark 16: 15

So we have to preach the gospel to others. Our family… Our friends… Any strangers we might chance upon to share with about Jesus.

Israel Rejects the Gospel

And this is the second subsection of the chapter.

However, as we know, there are always those whom we preach to who either choose not to believe in the gospel or refuse to even listen to a bit of it outright. And well we know it’s actually worse if one had heard the gospel and chose to reject the gospel.

But still, as we face these people in our work of evangelism, let us not be discouraged and press on.

However, what is more serious is about those who are in the true church, but do not wholly believe in the words of God. Despite knowing about the gospel since young or at least for a long time, they harbor doubts about God’s words.

Some may blame it on the pride of the person. Others may suggest the fact that the faith of the individual is weak. But whatever the reason, it is indeed a shame if one chooses not to accept the gospel of peace…

Do we know of anyone who has these doubts? Is there anything we can do to help them? (These questions I ask because I do not really know the answer to them myself. All I know what to do is to pray… Hopefully someone can share…)

May God guide us in the work of evangelism and pasturing, so that we may be able to bring more lost sheep back to the fold…

Besides praying for brethren, may be being an example of walking the walk for them to see is worth considering. (of which u r).

    Rom 10:17可见,信道是从听道来的,听道是从基督的话来的。

Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said to him, ” ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

    信道是从听道来的,这话说得很好。

    信道也是从见道来的。

Let others, brethren and friends, see Jesus in us.

Why do the words of Paul continue to be a strong encouragement for Christians till today?

Isn’t it bec it is evident that Paul walked the walk?

Rom 10:8 But what does it says? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

    信道是从听道来的,信道也是从见道来的。

Have we let others see Jesus in us?
