Isaiah Chapter 26

Imagine, feeling peaceful all the time and never worrying about anything. It seems like it is impossible, isn’t it?

Prophet Isaiah says in Isaiah 26:3-4 “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.”

The Lord promises that we can have perfect peace, and even we will be kept in perfect peace. Not an ordinary peace, but it is perfect peace, the source of it. This perfect peace cannot be attained in just being a positive thinking person.

Lord Jesus says “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27).

God’s peace is different from the world’s peace. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We all have worries. Worries about our jobs, worries about things in our homes, or at school. In addition, we also see turmoil and conflict in the world around us. And we can never avoid all these things.

So, how can we enjoy the perfect peace when we are surrounded by all these things?

Prophet Isaiah tells us that those who keep their mind on God and trust in the Lord forever would be kept in perfect peace.

If our minds stay on ourselves, or if our minds stay on our problems or on anything else, we can never have this perfect peace. What we put into our mind determines our actions. So, we must fix our thoughts on God, only then we can have the perfect peace and be assured that God’s unchanging love and mighty power will continue to support us. As a result, we will become steady and stable, and we will not be easily shaken by surrounding chaos. Because we know that God is in control.

So, let us all focus our mind on God and His Word. May the Holy Spirit continue to help us.
